The Princess of Lunastra-Jennifer Stegmann

The Princess of Lunastra-Jennifer Stegmann

About the Book & World

The Princess of Lunastra blends sci-fi and fantasy beautifully. What inspired you to bring these two genres together in the Star Path Saga?

I have a love for both genres, and I don't see too many other books out there with this blended genre. So I decided I wanted to have my own story with both the genres blended in.

Esmeray’s journey is filled with betrayal, survival, and unexpected love. What part of her story was the most emotional for you to write?

Honestly, all of it. There are a few parts (no spoilers) that even made me cry while writing it.

Lunastra and Wysteia sound like such vivid, contrasting settings. How did you approach building those worlds?

I honestly had to do a bit of research on how to describe beautiful worlds by not only reading others books (Like Tolkien for example), and turn it into my own web of world building.

✍️ About the Writing Journey

When did the idea for The Princess of Lunastra first spark, and how long did it take you to
shape it into the book we see today?

It started off as a collab idea with another friend. We both got as far as writing the characters and backstreet, then life got busy and the idea fell through, so I took my character and wrote her own story, which are the three books that are available today!

Did you discover anything surprising about yourself as a writer while creating this story?

I discovered how much I grew from writing my first draft and releasing that (yes I did that lol) but I have since reworked it two more times into the masterpiece it is today.

What do you hope readers feel or carry with them after finishing Esmeray’s story?

I hope that they can relate with Esmeray in some ways. As there are some themes of mental health in my books, I hope that they read the books and feel that they are not alone in their struggles.
 About the Series & Characters

The Star Path Saga hints at darkness, destiny, and resilience. Without spoilers, what can
readers expect as the saga continues?

They can expect awesome adventures and amazing world building, awesome characters and very present themes of loyalty.

If you could spend a day with one of your characters (besides Esmeray), who would it be and why?

It would have to be with the dragon companion Mirage because I absolutely love how loyal she is, and I love dragons!

Your book explores both shadows and love—what balance of light and dark do you enjoy writing most?

I would have to say that I love writing the ups and downs of my MMC (currently) journey he has to undergo. Can't say too much else without spoilers.

 Fun & Quirky Round

If The Princess of Lunastra had a theme song, what would it be?

I actually have a soundtrack for the entire series! It is included by a QR code on the first page of my first, third, and fourth book. (Fourth book is currently in progress)

Coffee, tea, or something stronger while you write?

Iced coffee, I love my coffee and always need it next to me when writing.

Which sci-fi/fantasy worlds (books, movies, or shows) shaped your imagination the most
growing up?

The Lord of the Rings books by JRR Tolkien opened up the world of fantasy, and Star Wars
opened up the world of sci fi.

If you could cast any actor for Esmeray in a film or TV adaptation, who would you pick?

Hmmm, I would have to say Selma Hayek would be a good fit for Esmeray.
